Katelyn and Ben's Wedding

Katelyn and Ben’s wedding was an amazing celebration filled with colour, and emotion. Their ceremony was the start of a fabulous afternoon and evening celebrating in true Ben and Katelyn style. It was a big party with plenty of easy but delicious food and drink enjoyed by family and friends who partied well into the night.

They chose the iconic Albert Hallin Canberra as the location for their wedding and reception – a stunning location that effectively is a blank canvas for you and is super easy for guests! We met and discussed options for where to have the ceremony, as well as aback up plan in case of bad weather.

Family and friends are important to Ben and Katelyn and it was important that there was lots of room, and they were able to have all the people around them that they wanted. Their vision was a big, casual party to celebrate the best day of their life.

Katelyn and her wedding party got ready at the Hyatt, so only moments from the Albert Hall, while Ben and his team used the dressing rooms at the Albert Hall to get ready after finalising the set up. It was all easy, and very Katelyn and Ben – chilled and relaxed.

Creating your unique ceremony space

The ceremony space was adorned with spectacular flowers from Floral Heads. The colours were amazing!!!

The set up framed Ben and Katelyn perfectly while using the old world charm of the building perfectly. They were definitely the centre of attention.

Does your wedding party need to wear the same outfits?

Katelyn’s wedding party chose dresses of different colours and styles, to best suit each person and the variety of flowers suited the dresses perfectly!

There was so much colour and vibrancy! Best of all, each of Katelyn’s friends had chosen a dress they loved, that suited them. As a group they looked cohesive with their spring vibe.

Creating special moments

As each of Kately’s wedding party came in they gave Ben the best greetings! It was obvious from the start how incredibly special Ben and Katelyn are to their whole wedding party. These welcomes really set the tone for the wedding.

Katelyn was escorted by both her parents, reflecting her love for family. Her bouquet included some special charms with photos of her beloved grandparents.

Your vows

Your vows are such a powerful moment, sharing your thoughts and feelings of love with the person you are choosing to marry, and your family and friends who are sharing the best day of your life with you. Just before he came out to mingle with everyone, Ben asked to re-read his vows. It was a beautiful moment which captured how important this day was to Ben. It wasn’t just about the party, it was all about his love for Katelyn.

Katelyn and Ben’s vows had everyone laughing and crying – the most beautiful, heartfelt words which really epitomised this wonderful couple.

After the ceremony

After photos, family and friends headed inside the Albert Hall to get the party started.

It is such a wonderful space and there was plenty of room for tables as well as dancing. Guests grazed on platters before delicious pizzas arrived from Capital Woodfired Pizzas Canberrafollowed by the best gelato around from Mellabella Gelato.

It really was an amazing celebration filled with all the things that are ‘Ben and Katelyn’. Family, friends, fun, laughter, love … and plenty of food, drink and dancing!
