Kaylee and Wezley's Wedding

High school sweethearts Kaylee and Wezley wanted their ceremony to be fun but meaningful and so as their celebrant I worked with them to ensure that every part of their ceremony reflected what was important to them.

They chose the gorgeous gardens at The Brassey because the area is stunning and the perfect size for their anticipated number of wedding guests. But more importantly, the dais where they stood was built by Wezley’s dad, and Kaylee’s godmother had her reception at The Brassey with Kaylee as the flowergirl. Beautiful connections for both the bride and groom to their ceremony venue.

It was an easy walk for guests after the ceremony to Hotel Realm for the reception. Because the two venues are managed by the same group, it’s easy for couples to organise, you have the one event planner supporting you across both areas.

Kaylee and Wezley asked me to begin with an Acknowledgement of Country, which I’m privileged to be able to do in the language of the Ngunawal People, the traditional custodians of this area. It was an important way to start their ceremony, recognising that ceremonies have been celebrated here for tens of thousands of years.

Kaylee and Wezley wanted their ceremony to be fun and memorable. Their ninja vows gave them a chance to laugh at themselves as a couple, as well as providing fun for their guests as they listened to the promises made for each other. Their personal vows were heartfelt as well as light-hearted, great balances! The laughs were beautifully captured by The Dreams Collective

Kaylee and Wezley included family in their wedding party and the younger members looked fabulous in their suits. Having the right people standing beside you is key! My blog about Your Wedding Party has ideas and examples. Kaylee and Wezley’s wedding party looked amazing, they were well coordinated across both groups.

Following their ceremony, Kaylee and Wezley made the most of the areas around The Brassey, including its gorgeous architecture as well as the stunning gardens. Those special moments were captured by The Dreams Collective before they headed across the road to their reception where they partied the night away with family and friends.
