Sali and Phil's Wedding

Sali and Phil’s is a love story worth celebrating … and that is exactly what they did! When I met them, they had definite thoughts about what they wanted in both their ceremony and the reception afterwards, but they were also open to ideas. So important to know your priorities!!

Sali and Phil wanted to acknowledge and include their family, they knew their marriage blended two families, and family is key for both of them. They also wanted to incorporate some of their cultural traditions and share that experience with their family and friends.

Sali knew the moment she saw The Chapel at Gold Creek it perfectly reflected her wedding dream. Phil wisely trusted Sali’s judgement, but the tears welled up when he first saw it at their rehearsal. He couldn’t believe how beautiful it was!

Sali knew what song she wanted to walk down the aisle to, and wanted to keep it a surprise for Phil. The talented Joanna played the cello as guests gathered and for the entrance procession.

Sali was led in by their grandchildren, helped by their parents, an important reflection of how important family is to Sali and Phil. The special moments as each grandchild greeted Nonno were beautifully captured by their photographer Michael Taylor.

Sali and Phil were delightfully nervous, indicating how important this moment was for both of them. There were lots of laughs in the ceremony, and a few tears of joy – and not just from the bride and groom. Their children were so proud of them! It was a delight to be part of this special family moment.

The weather didn’t impact too dramatically on Sali and Phil’s plans, having an indoor ceremony meant that the rain was not a major concern. After the ceremony, the group photo was taken in the Chapel, a slightly different twist on the normal group photo, but an effective way of recording the moment.

Cars are an important part of Sali and Phil’s life, and there was significance in the car that Sali arrived in, and that Sali and Phil left the ceremony in. Clear umbrellas are a must for wet days as you can still capture great photos (have a read of my blog to see how I can help you with this)

Sali and Phil headed quickly to Hotel Realm after the ceremony where their guests were ready to party the night away. Their reception started with a Jordian tradition, reflecting Sali’s heritage. The drummers from Dream Entertainment set a fabulous tone for the evening! Having all the family – Phil’s kids, Sali’s kids – up and dancing after the happy couple entered was a beautiful moment!

Sali and Phil’s wedding was a dream come true. The emotions on their faces, and their kids face throughout the ceremony are memories that, as their celebrant, I will treasure.
