Susannah and Josh's Wedding

Susannah and Josh had ideas for many memorable moments in their ceremony which was held at the gorgeous The Chapel At Gold Creek . Part of my role as your celebrant in Canberra is connecting and linking the different parts of your story and highlighting them in meaningful ways.

Mementos for your day.

Susannah sensed that Josh was going to propose and so she organised her own gift, which reflected them as a couple, and their love for The Simpsons. She found replica Pig Bride and Groom cufflinks and had them ready to give Josh when the right moment came. This story was woven into the personal story I told guests, important because Josh was proudly wearing the cufflinks on his wedding day. Meaningful and symbolic moments

As Susannah was getting ready, her mother took off a ring she has worn for decades and gave it to Susannah so that she had ‘something blue’ to wear on her wedding day.

Susannah and Josh wanted to remember loved ones who had died, and so they asked Josh’s dad to light a memorial candle reminding everyone of their presence in a symbolic way.

Recognising that their marriage joined two families, Susannah and Josh asked their mums to join them in a sand ceremony. symbolising the unity of the two families. They chose colours aligned with their wedding theme and created a beautiful reminder of their wedding day.

In choosing to include these elements in their ceremony, Susannah and Josh ensured that their parents were actively involved in their wedding, which was important to them.

Music

Music is an important way you set the tone of your wedding and send messages about what is important to you. Susannah and Josh chose ‘We Are Family’ as the song to walk out together to, an important statement about their marriage, which also got their guests dancing!

Having fun!

Susannah and her wedding crew wanted to take the pressure off – literally, and so wore fabulous shoes that were all about no pressure and being able to dance the night away in comfort. The reception at The Southern Cross was a fabulous evening of fun for everyone!
